What You Will Make
Guests bring their own design idea or pick one of the studio templates, then sketch it onto the tufting frame. After a practice run on a sample frame, everyone fills their design with yarn using the tufting gun and watches the artwork come alive. The last step is learning how to glue, trim and add backing. The rug is ready to take home as soon as the session ends.
Almost any design works, but simple designs are the way to go for beginners: overly intricate details, thin lines and small lettering are much harder to execute with a tufting gun. Guests are asked to submit their design before the workshop so it can be reviewed and adjusted to be tufting-friendly.
