What You Will Make
Whether you are crafting a mug, a vase or a funky pinch pot, the instructors guide the whole group step by step. Guests learn to knead and shape clay, build simple forms by hand and decorate the surface, and each person chooses how ambitious to get. After your class the studio handles the firing and glazing, and your pieces are ready for pickup in a few weeks.
Because the session is private, the pace and the mood belong to your group. It is stress relief through creative play, a few beginner-friendly art skills and a set of fun, shared memories that end up on desks and kitchen shelves.
Why It Works for Groups
Grab your friends, co-workers or family and play with clay for your next special occasion. The workshops are a hit with both kids and adults, so the format works for an office crew, a family celebration or a mixed group of friends. As one of the more memorable team building activities for employees, it gets everyone to roll up their sleeves and tap into their creative side.
Private sessions of 6 to 18 guests sit comfortably in the studio, which makes this a flexible option among team bonding workshops and company offsite activities. It also doubles as hands-on birthday party entertainment, and it is a welcome change for anyone collecting creative team building ideas. It is the kind of experience that leaves a group saying they knead to do that again.
About the Studio
The host is a women-owned pottery studio in the Inner Richmond neighborhood of San Francisco. Its founder grew up in her mom's pottery studio, spending most of her childhood covered in clay, helping customers and learning to make things by hand. Before opening her own business she worked as an elementary school teacher, and that background still shapes the room: the goal is a space where people feel comfortable trying something new, slowing down and not feeling intimidated.
The studio opened in 2023 and now runs one-night hand-building workshops, memberships, kids pottery parties and private events for teams and friends. Its own ceramic line focuses on color, form and playful pieces meant to be used every day, and that same spirit carries into every class.
