What You Will Learn
If you have ever swooned over vintage-style cakes with ruffled borders and dainty scrolls, this class shows you how they are made. You learn the essential vintage piping techniques, including delicate shell borders, ornate scrollwork and those signature old-school floral flourishes, and how to turn any cake into a timeless showstopper.
A friendly instructor guides you every step of the way. Recent guests mention the one-on-one guidance they received in a small class, an instructor who tailored the session to their needs and how much they learned in two hours. By the end, you have your own decorated cake that is just as sweet to look at as it is to eat.
Why It Works for Groups
A team building baking class gives every guest the same starting point and a finished result to show off, so beginners and confident bakers enjoy it equally. Guests compare scrolls, swap tips and laugh at their first wobbly borders, which makes this one of the easier creative team bonding activities to plan. Smaller teams can book a cozy session, and with a private group size of 4 to 30 guests it suits team building activities for small groups as well as a full department.
The class is perfect for birthdays, unique date ideas or a fun day out with friends, and it makes a fun gift for her, a gift for mom or a gift for couples. Among holiday team building activities, a cake decorating session is an easy way to add something sweet to a Christmas party or a year-end gathering.
About the Bakery and Dessert Studio
The host is a women-owned, family-owned neighborhood bakery in the Almaden area of San Jose, named after the owners' daughter.
