What's Included
- One hour of hands-on instruction from a professional bartender
- A complete set of bar tools for every participant
- All ingredients and supplies needed to run the class
- Two cocktails made by each guest, a "cocktail" and a "sour"
- Recipes chosen with your input, including non-alcoholic and low-alcohol options on request
What You Will Learn
Each class uses recipes that demonstrate the core lessons of cocktail making, so guests understand why a drink works, not just how to follow a recipe. Your teacher can work with you to choose recipes your group will enjoy, whether that means learning a margarita or a mojito, and classes can be tailored entirely to non-alcoholic cocktails for guests who prefer them.
The goal is to demystify the tools and terminology of the bar. Even complete beginners leave with the tips and tricks to make delicious drinks at home and a better sense of what to order when they are out.
Why It Works for Groups
Everyone gets their own tools and makes their own drinks, so the whole team is involved from the first pour. That makes it one of the more unique team building events for a group that wants to learn something together rather than sit through a presentation, and one of the most social in person team building activities for 10 to 30 people.
Because the bartender can come to you, it is easy to run as one of your team building events in office, at a hotel or conference center you are already using, or at another suitable venue. Smaller groups can also be hosted in the saloon's own classroom in San Francisco, which has space for up to 17 people. It fits corporate team building events, client entertainment and celebrations alike, and reviewers have booked it for a holiday activity and team building, which puts it among the easiest office holiday team building activities to plan. It also makes a fun gift for an important birthday or anniversary.
About the Host
The host's events arm grew out of a San Francisco saloon that reopened in 2003 and quickly earned recognition for its cocktails, service and events. Its founder is recognized as one of the pioneers of the modern cocktail revival. Across more than 75 guest reviews the team holds a 4.9-star average. It has offered beverage catering since 2004 and educational classes since 2006, and has run cocktail events at department stores, corporate campuses, national conferences and trade shows. Starting in 2009 the founder also ran a non-profit beverage education center, before moving all classes back to the saloon. Only owner-trained or approved professional bartenders teach and serve.
