About the Class
Guests discover the technique of painting on glass and bring their ideas to life with vibrant colors and delicate brush strokes. Throughout the workshop, the instructor guides everyone through the process step by step, so even beginners feel empowered and inspired. The result is a unique piece of art that reflects each guest's own style.
The process is calm and absorbing. Many guests choose a floral design, and others work from patterns or create something of their own. By the end of class, everyone has a charming glass painting to display at home or give to a loved one, which makes it a natural outing with your mom, a close friend or your whole team.
Why It Works for Groups
As a team building painting activity, glass painting asks for focus without pressure: there is a clear technique to learn, plenty of room for personal style and a finished piece for every guest. It sits comfortably among creative team bonding activities, and the slow, steady brushwork makes it one of the more relaxing team building activities a team can book after a busy quarter.
The class suits a team building activity, a Christmas party, a birthday or a bachelorette party. With room for 4 to 40 guests, it scales from a small pod to a full department, and it is an easy fit for office holiday team building activities because every guest leaves with a framed piece. For smaller teams, it is one of the simplest team building activity ideas for small groups that still feels special.
About the Studio
The studio is a woman-owned, artist-run art space in the Lower Nob Hill neighborhood of San Francisco, founded by working artists and run by a two-woman team. Alongside exhibitions of emerging and mid-career artists, it hosts art classes and workshops and offers studio space for rent. The team sees art as a vehicle for social change and for bringing creative communities together.
Classes and workshops are organized by its co-director, a San Francisco native who has studied art in Italy, China and California. Her murals and public art commissions appear throughout the city, and her ceramic sculptures are in private collections.
What Past Groups Say
A company that booked a team ceramics workshop here called it a great team-building activity, with an instructor who was kind, patient and encouraging, clear instructions and plenty of room to be creative without feeling rushed. Another company that came for a team building workshop said the instructor was hands-on when needed while leaving everyone free to do their own thing, and noted that the space is beautiful and roomy.
