Corporate Scavenger Hunt Team Building Events
Fully hosted, app-driven scavenger hunts for corporate teams seeking a shared experience with real clues, real stakes, and a real finish line. Founded in San Francisco in 2014, the company builds every hunt around a core principle: team building works best when it emerges naturally from a genuinely great experience, not from a forced or awkward activity.
During a hunt, teams solve riddles, follow clues to notable local landmarks, and complete challenges designed to spark organic collaboration, clear communication, and friendly competition. The core game runs for 2 hours, with a suggested 2.5-hour time block that includes kickoff instructions and a structured wrap-up celebration.
Group Size and Capacity
This listing accommodates groups ranging from 20 to 1,000 participants. We have extensive experience at both ends of that spectrum and well beyond it. The team has produced hunts for groups of several thousand people, including a roughly 3,000-person event held on Google's campus. Whether the group is a department of 20 or an all-hands gathering of several hundred, the experience scales without losing its energy or polish.
What's Included in Every Hunt
Every event is fully produced team—never handed off as a self-guided kit. Each hunt includes:
Polished native iOS and Android apps for clue delivery and progress tracking
Custom riddle and route design tailored to the group and location
On-the-ground hosts who manage the flow and keep energy high
Scoring system and wrap-up structure so every team gets a moment to celebrate
Full logistics management: routing, timing, materials, and staffing
Because we handle the operational details, the client-side point of contact can participate in and enjoy the event rather than spending the day managing it.
Event Types and Use Cases
These scavenger hunts work well for a wide range of corporate and social gatherings, including:
Company offsites and retreats
Department team building days
Sales kickoffs and new hire onboarding
Client-facing events and partner appreciation days
Company-wide celebrations and holiday parties
Conference and convention breakouts
Past clients include Google, Stripe, LinkedIn, Vimeo, and Dropbox, spanning both tightly scoped team events and full campus-scale programs. The format is equally suited for milestone celebrations, anniversary parties, and large-scale festival-style gatherings where interactive entertainment is the centerpiece.
Service Area and Delivery
We deliver hunts in every major US city and internationally. The team has produced public and private events in San Francisco, New York, Chicago, Austin, Seattle, Boston, Los Angeles, and beyond. Route design is customized to each city's geography, so teams explore interesting neighborhoods, parks, and cultural landmarks rather than generic corporate spaces. For international events, the same full-production standard applies, with local hosts and location-specific riddles.
Why Teams Choose This Format
Unlike traditional team building activities that feel like obligatory exercises, this scavenger hunt is designed as an experience people would genuinely choose to do on a day off. The combination of physical movement, mental challenges, and shared problem-solving creates natural opportunities for colleagues to connect across departments and seniority levels. The app-based format keeps teams moving at their own pace while the host team ensures the overall event stays on schedule.
The experience is built for groups that want more than a generic icebreaker. It delivers measurable outcomes—improved communication, cross-team relationships, and a shared sense of accomplishment—without sacrificing fun. Every hunt ends with a structured wrap-up where scores are revealed, standout moments are highlighted, and teams celebrate together.
About the Company Behind the Hunts
We did not start as a team building company. In 2014, the founders were a group of friends who organized ambitious group adventures, including a bike ride from San Francisco to Anchorage, Alaska, and 200-mile, 2-day relay races. They noticed that these shared, challenging experiences made them genuinely closer as friends—not in a vague corporate-retreat way, but in a real, lasting way.
To share that dynamic with more people, they created The SF Hunt, a 12-hour, 100-riddle scavenger hunt across San Francisco that now attracts roughly 1,000 participants annually. The event expanded to six US cities and remains a flagship public offering. After repeated requests from attendees, it launched its private events business in 2016. Since then, the team has entertained tens of thousands of participants at hundreds of corporate events.
