What to Expect
The estate vineyard was planted entirely to Cabernet Sauvignon, and Cabernet is the heart of what the winery makes, so this tasting leans into the reds the family is proudest of. Your group sits together at the patio, tastes through the reserve selections at an easy pace and has time to talk about each pour while looking out over the vines.
It is a good fit for groups that have already done a casual tasting and want something more focused, or for a team with a few real wine enthusiasts who will appreciate the difference. If the visit marks a birthday or an anniversary, mention it when booking and the team will do what it can to make it special.
Why Groups Book It
As wine team building, a reserve tasting gives a small group a shared, slightly special experience without any planning burden. It works as one of the calmer team retreat activities for a leadership group, a board or a founding team, and it is an easy appreciation team building activity for thanking a small team after a big quarter. With a cap of 10 guests, everyone stays in one conversation.
Hosting a Bigger Group?
The winery also hosts private celebrations and corporate events for guests 21 and over, with room for approximately 90 guests indoors and up to 200 guests in its outdoor spaces, plus a wine blending camp for groups of 16 to 70 in which guests combine barrel samples to create their own blend. Ask about those formats separately; this package is designed for a small group of up to 10.
About the Winery
The winery began as a family vineyard on a Livermore Valley hilltop. The founding couple bought their hilltop property and planted the estate vineyard entirely to Cabernet Sauvignon in 1999, first selling their fruit to another local winery before deciding to make wine of their own. In April 2008 the family opened the doors with just one wine, a 2005 Cabernet Sauvignon Reserve. Today the winery is still family-owned and women-owned, run by the founders' daughter as President, with a longtime winemaker guiding the Cabernet program.
More Ways to Spend the Day
The estate offers several other experiences if your group wants to stay longer. Arbor Cabanas on the front lawn give groups of up to 12 a private, shaded retreat for 2.5 hours, with outdoor seating, glassware, an ice bucket and bottle service from the team, weather permitting. A guided Barrel Tasting and Vineyard Tour runs Friday to Sunday at 11:00 AM and takes guests on a walk through the estate vineyards and into the barrel room to sample wine still in progress. From November through March, a private heated igloo on the patio seats up to 8. The expansive front lawn is family friendly, and guests may bring a picnic to enjoy with wine by the glass or bottle.
