Description

Your Bay Area Wedding Ceremony Officiant Honors Your Story

The Basic Ceremony is the right starting point for SF Bay Area couples who want a real wedding ceremony with a personal feel - not a copy-paste read, not a fully custom production. It runs up to ten minutes, is built on one of the officiant's tested frameworks delivered cleanly at hundreds of Pleasanton, Livermore, Dublin, Oakland, Berkeley, San Francisco, San Jose, and Wine Country weddings, and is then lightly tailored to you. Couples pick this tier when they want the wedding to feel like theirs with their names, pronouns, and the small details, without taking on the planning work of a fully custom script. This is a wedding ceremony officiant package built for couples who want a wedding ceremony officiant.

What You Get

The package opens with an initial phone interview so the officiant can get to know you both, hear how you would like to be addressed, and surface any cultural touches, family details, or language you want included. From that conversation through the wedding day, there is unlimited email, phone, and text support - questions about the order of events, last-minute vow tweaks, or whether your processional song will work for the chosen script are all part of the package, not extras.

Light Personalization, Big Difference

Even though the script is one of the officiant's curated frameworks, the small personalizations matter. Your names, your love story in a sentence or two, the tone you want - quiet and heartfelt, lighter and funnier, or something in between - all get woven in. If you want to write your own vows on top of the script, that is welcome and supported with prompts and a light editing pass on a private document.

Legal Filing Handled

The marriage officiant signs your California marriage license at the ceremony and files it with the county that issued it within ten days, per state law. Couples are responsible for picking up a valid California marriage license before the wedding date from any California county clerk's office. A regular license needs one witness signature; a confidential license needs no witness.

Ceremonies in English, Portuguese, or Spanish

The officiant is fully trilingual and runs entire ceremonies in English, Portuguese, or Spanish - including the legal pronouncement - without an interpreter and at no additional cost for language. Bilingual ceremonies are also supported for families where the couple's first languages differ. This makes a real difference for first-generation families who want their grandparents to hear and understand the vows.

Inclusive and Multicultural

All ceremonies are non religious wedding officiant ceremonies, non-denominational and structured to welcome any faith, cultural, or family background. LGBTQ+ couples are welcomed with the script adjusted to match your pronouns and family. Multicultural ceremonies are a specialty - Indian, Filipino, Mexican, Brazilian, Portuguese, Chinese, Japanese, and African American family traditions have all been part of past ceremonies.

Why This Officiant

Fifteen-plus years in the Bay Area wedding industry, with a reputation built on warmth of delivery and trilingual range that few other officiants offer, with spanish wedding officiant and Portuguese fluency including the legal language. Past ceremonies span Berkeley garden weddings, Sunol vineyard ceremonies, Pleasanton event center evenings, Livermore country weddings, and intimate ceremonies in San Francisco backyards and city hall steps.

Cancellation + Date Changes

One date change is accommodated; subsequent moves carry a fee. Cancellations within thirty days forfeit the booked amount.

Rules

Booking + Travel

Bookings confirmed with a signed agreement and deposit (amount communicated on inquiry). Travel within the San Francisco Bay Area is included for most events; ceremonies beyond a standard radius (typically 30-40 miles from East Bay) may carry a mileage fee, communicated up front.

Rehearsals

Rehearsals are available as an add-on at the published hourly rate of two hundred dollars per hour, with subsequent half-hour increments at one hundred dollars, plus travel. Rehearsals are typically scheduled Monday through Thursday based on availability. If a sound system is needed for the rehearsal, an additional fee applies.

Marriage License

The couple is responsible for obtaining a valid California marriage license from any California county before the ceremony date. The officiant signs the license at the ceremony and files it with the issuing county within ten days, per California Family Code.

Witnesses

A confidential California marriage license requires no witness; a regular license requires one witness signature. The couple should bring or arrange a witness for any ceremony using a regular license.

Customization + Beliefs

Non-denominational ceremonies welcoming all faiths, cultures, and family structures. LGBTQ+ couples are welcomed unreservedly. Multicultural and multilingual ceremonies are accommodated; Portuguese and Spanish ceremonies are available end-to-end without an interpreter.

What is Expected of You

Provide an accurate guest count, ceremony start time, and venue address by the planning meeting. Communicate any cultural traditions, rituals, or do-not-include requests early so the script is built around your story. On the day, allow at least twenty minutes for the officiant to set up audio if a PA is part of the package.

Lead Time

Inquiries for weekend wedding dates ideally arrive at least three to four months in advance. Mid-week and elopement-style ceremonies often accommodate two to four weeks notice subject to availability.
