- Prep by wash and go, shaping with product, and a finished cut style held with pomade, wax or matte clay picked to last the full day

- Tidying through the sideburns, the neckline, the hairline, the brows and the beard line
- Coordination so his finished look pairs with the bride's hair and makeup
- The styling area cleared before the artist leaves
What the makeup step is really solving
Grooms tend to resist this part and then find it again in the photographs. Nothing here is a full application. Skin gets evened, redness and blemishes come down, the brows are tidied, and everything is set matte. The problem being solved is shine. Venue lighting and a photographer's flash both find an oily forehead, and a man who looks fine from across the room can look damp in a close portrait. In person, none of it is meant to register.
Hair that survives past the ceremony
A wedding hair stylist works from his own texture, his own length and what he actually likes rather than steering him into a house cut. Classic side parts, slicked back finishes, modern textured cuts, low fade refinements and natural volume are all supported, over straight, wavy, curly or thick hair. The product call is made for the day rather than for the mirror: pomade, wax or matte clay, depending on how many hours the style has to stand up outdoors, under a camera, and on a dance floor.
Fitting the couple's schedule together
Ceremony time, first look time and the getting ready address are logged when the booking is made, and the artist turns up with enough room to be finished ahead of the first look and the formal portraits. Book this next to the bride's own wedding hair and makeup and the same team times her first, then fits the groom so the pair are ready at the same moment. Coordination on the day runs straight through the bridal team, so the couple is not chasing two appointments across two rooms.
Bringing in groomsmen, fathers and family
At booking the appointment can be widened to take in groomsmen, fathers or close family. Every extra person is quoted on their own and confirmed ahead of the wedding, with the running order planned so each one is finished in time for portraits and the ceremony. Weddings that run across more than a single date can be covered too.
Travel, and what gets carried in
The service area is the Bay Area and Northern California. In comes a portable kit, reflectors and a clean styling station, which is what turns a hotel room or a relative's spare bedroom into somewhere the work can actually be done, instead of relying on whatever lamp and mirror happen to be sitting there.
The pouch he keeps for the rest of the day
He leaves with a small touch up kit: the same pomade or product that went into the styling, blotting paper, and a matte powder for the makeup half. A light pass between the ceremony, the portraits and the reception keeps things consistent without a second appointment. If the day is long enough to want a full pass, touch up service is separately available.
Holding the date and agreeing the look
The studio drops the combo into the wedding day running order against the bride's prep, the photographer's schedule and the venue's first look window. A pre wedding consultation, phone or in person, is booked separately and is the recommended way to agree the finished look, with a trial available as an add on and photographs reviewed before sign off. Behind all of it: cosmetology licensing, certified hair stylists, liability insurance on every on location appointment, a dedicated backup on the roster, disposable applicators, sanitized brushes and single use tools.
Booking terms for this appointment
The space should have access to a power outlet, a stable chair, and warm overhead light. Travel beyond a fifty mile radius is quoted as a separate add on at booking, and travel beyond the Bay Area is confirmed during booking. A booking deposit holds the calendar slot and the balance is due before service begins.
